Warranty conditions Berkey water filters
Berkey Water Systems (New Millennium Concepts Ltd.) offers a standard warranty for all their products against defects in materials or workmanship during normal use and should be purchased from an authorised Berkey® dealer (such as Alternatievemiddelen.nl BV). This limited warranty does not cover product problems caused by any other reason. See below for all warranty periods per Berkey product.
Berkey Water Systems (New Millennium Concepts Ltd.) and Alternatievemiddelen.nl BV cannot be held liable for incidental or consequential damage to personal property due to, but not limited to, a defective device, improper use, misuse, accident or neglect, etc. It is the customer's responsibility to prevent misuse of the system and to replace parts when they need to be replaced due to the natural course of wear and tear. To claim warranty, you must provide proof of purchase of the product and you may be responsible for paying any shipping costs for returning the product.
This warranty does not apply to devices that have been used for purposes for which they are not intended and have been modified to, in the manufacturer's judgment, adversely affect performance. The warranty is only for the original purchaser and is not transferable.
Berkey Water Systems (New Millennium Concepts Ltd.) and Alternatievemiddelen.nl BV will replace or repair any product that malfunctions during the said warranty period (see below).
This warranty applies only to products manufactured or exclusively distributed by Berkey Water Systems (New Millennium Concepts Ltd.) and its authorised Berkey® dealers (such as Alternatievemiddelen.nl BV).
Warranty periods per product
2-year warranty (divided into 4 6-month periods)
The Black Berkey filter elements are covered by a two-year limited warranty, divided into six-month intervals. The warranty period starts from the date of purchase (invoice date). These intervals are divided as follows:
- Are there any defects in the months 0-6, then you will receive a entirely new filter element or entire new filter elements.
- Are there any defects in the months 7-12, then you get 75% discount on the purchase of a new filter element(s).
- Are there any defects in the months 13-18, then you get 50% discount on the purchase of a new filter element(s).
- Are there any defects in the months 19-24, then you get 25% discount on the purchase of a new filter element(s).
1-year warranty
All Berkey water filter conversions (upper and lower trays) and lids (except damaged models, marked with a letter B), are covered by a 1-year limited warranty. The warranty period starts from the date of purchase (invoice date).
6-month warranty
The Fluoride & Arsenic filter elements (PF-2), Sport Berkey filter elements and all other Berkey produtcs are covered by a 6-month limited warranty. The warranty period starts from the date of purchase (invoice date).
Warranty period exclusions
The following actions invalidate the warranty coverage:
- One of the Black Berkey filter elements or Fluoride & Arsenic filter elements (PF-2) let freeze;
- Using water from a dehumidifier and filtering it with the Black Berkey filter elements for everyday use;
- Breakage or damage to Berkey products due to dropping, carelessness, cleaning or general misuse, as determined by Berkey Water Systems (New Millennium Concepts Ltd.);
- Failure to remove the Black Berkey filter elements from the system before the system is transported or moved, resulting in broken stems;
- Perform a red dye test with the Berkey Fluoride & Arsenic filter elements (PF-2) attached to it. To continue to meet the six-month guarantee, the Berkey Fluoride & Arsenic filter elements (PF-2) are removed before a red dye test is performed;
- Use of water from a water softening system. Please note that this action may affect the Black Berkey filter elements clog, rust or pitting the stainless steel;
- Using salt water with Berkey filter elements (Black Berkey and Fluoride & Arsenic (PF-2));
- If the product is not used in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations or instructions;
- Berkey filter elements (Black Berkey and Fluoride & Arsenic (PF-2)) stored in a manner not approved by Berkey Water Systems (New Millennium Concepts Ltd.)
