The casing is made of polished stainless steel (304), which is the longest lasting stainless steel on the market. Stainless for life.
The box of the Travel Berkey water filter includes: two stainless steel chambers (top and bottom), 2 Black Berkey filter elements, 1 stainless steel lid, 1 plastic tap (with mounting hardware), 2 wing nuts (for Black Berkey filter elements), 2 washers (for Black Berkey filter elements), 1 priming button (to prime Black Berkey filter elements) and the Priming Starter Kit.
You can easily assemble the Travel Berkey in minutes without tools. The first step in preparing a Berkey water filter is priming Black Berkey filter elements. It is important that this is done properly, otherwise purifying the water will take a very long time. Since April 2018, we have been using the Travel Berkey Water Filter 6L with Fluoride and Arsenic filter elements.
We use Berkey water for coffee, tea, lemonade, homemade bread/soup, rinsing and cooking potatoes, vegetables, etc.
Berkey water we find tastes better than Brita water.
And what we find most important is that the Berkey filters far more contaminants from tap water than the Brita.
I did notice with about 2 wkn that my electric kettle started making noises that looked like plopping and there was a lot of scale on the bottom.
The Berkey does not descale the water what the Brita does.
I solved this by first filtering tap water through the Brita and then through the Berkey.
This works fine for us, a bit more work but I'm happy to put up with it and the plopping of the kettle is a thing of the past.
A capacity of 6 litres is enough for 3 people. But I do have a filtered water supply of 8 litres in glass bottles.
Due to busyness, refills are sometimes forgotten and then I am oh so happy with our water supply.
This also came in handy because due to substantial construction work in our street, we had several times on and off for several hours without tap water.
But we luckily had our Berkey water supply.
With the purchase of Travel Berkey, we have made a very good choice that also contributes greatly to our health.
Moreover, the Berkey is a 'jewel' in our kitchen because of its beautiful luxury look.
Afterwards, I bought another Black Berkey Primer and a stainless steel tap Berkey systems. I am also very satisfied with these two purchases and delivery.
The service I received from Melanie and Tom is outstanding.
My Berkey had to be returned because of non-fitting upper and lower boiler due to a manufacturing error.
I got in touch and was able to return the complete Berkey.
Had to wait a while for a new Berkey because a foreign shipment was on its way and we - 5 girlfriends - had bought their last 5 Travel Berkey Water Filters 6L at once.
In short: excellent product and very good service received from Melanie and Tom.

First the regular Berkey 6Ltr I have been using for several months and 1 year now. We are sooooo... happy with it.
Can recommend it to everyone. So easy and more than enough for a family of 3 to 4 people.
Info and feed back from the people on this site was more than great. Had to keep the Brita jug with it though, which I already had.
In our community, the water is very hard and then the kettle would pop and whistle. The kettle did that even without
the Brita, so I had already purchased that. Now it works fine and the water is super tasty.
Customer service was fantastic. I enjoyed communicating with Tom & Melanie, they were so helpful and quick to respond, which made me feel confident that I chose the best company to buy my Travel Berkey from. Shipping was fast and my Berkey arrived well packaged in great condition. I exchanged my Brita for a Travel Berkey and I couldn't be happier. The water tastes so good and I think it was a great investment for better health. I also purchased the glass spigot and I'm so happy I did, it's so convenient. Thank you Tom and Melanie!!!
