What is freeze-dried fruit powder?
Freeze-dried fruit powder is a natural colour and flavour powder, made from only pure fruit and retaining up to 98% of its nutritional value. Moreover, it is very rich in fibre. For good reason, it is also called a superfood. The fruit powder is obtained through a unique process of freezing, drying and grinding. It looks like this:
Step 1: The fresh fruit is frozen at very low temperatures (-50 to -80 degrees Celsius).
Step 2: It then very slowly removes most of the ice cream. The low temperature ensures optimum retention of flavour and texture.
Step 3: Post-drying removes the last remnants of water. The fruit that remains is very light in weight but still contains almost all nutrients.
Step 4: In the final stage, the freeze-dried fruit is ground into fine powder. Due to its intense flavour, you only need a small amount of powder at a time!
