What is progesterone?

Progesterone is a hormone made by our body in the ovaries and adrenal glands, among others. Progesterone is a calming, balancing hormone. It gives a sense of calm and relaxation. It makes you feel emotionally stable. Progesterone plays a major role in the menstrual cycle and it is an important hormone if you want to get and stay pregnant. Also called the 'pregnancy hormone', it prepares the uterus for implantation and maintains the endometrium during pregnancy. Progesterone also supports the depth and duration of sleep, it is important for the thyroid gland and is involved in fat-burning processes. With a progesterone deficiency, you may experience symptoms such as: migraines, PMS, lowered libido, sensitive breasts, irregular menstrual cycles, heavy and painful periods, increased stress sensitivity, gloomy feelings, thyroid complaints and menopause symptoms.

Progesterone is made by cholesterol. It is therefore important to get enough healthy fats. Furthermore, stress takes a lot of progesterone. When you experience a lot of stress, progesterone is turned into cortisol (the stress hormone).

After the age of about 35, progesterone production begins to decline significantly. Oestrogen production also decreases slightly by then, but much less rapidly. As a result, oestrogen dominance can occur (temporarily). In proportion, there is too much effect of oestrogen compared to progesterone. Hormonal contraception, stress, exposure to xenoestrogens (hormone disruptors) and thus age can cause an imbalance in oestrogen and progesterone. Especially during premenopause, progesterone is needed to balance estrogen and progesterone. At menopause, blood levels drop dramatically of progesterone and (to a lesser extent) oestrogen. Sometimes progesterone drops to almost 0%. As a result, the balance between the two hormones falls and oestrogen dominance occurs.

Natural progesterone is made from vegetable fats and oils. In the laboratory, they are processed into human progesterone. The progesterone cream is thus a cream containing bio-identical progesterone. The cream is absorbed into the blood immediately through the skin, allowing it to do its job effectively.

Dosage:

When you menstruate, start on day 12 of your cycle (day 1 is the first day of your period) and continue until day 26. Repeat this every month.
If you no longer have a period, you can start at any time and lubricate 25 days and 5 days not.

Use ¼ teaspoon once daily and preferably spread it just before bedtime. In fact, different doses apply to each woman, so you will have to discover your own. Start with once daily and possibly switch to twice daily application after a few weeks. Use up to a whole teaspoon, until you find the right dosage for your body. If you find it makes you sleepy, use the cream only in the evening or a little less. It could mean that the dose is too high for you.
The cream is best applied to areas of the body where the skin is thin and has good circulation, such as the face, under the armpits, palms, breasts, inner arms and inner knees. Always alternate.
