The Big Berkey water filter comes with 2 original Black Berkey filter elements and can be extended to four elements. You can easily assemble the Big Berkey in minutes without tools. The first step in preparing a Berkey water filter is priming Black Berkey filter elements. It is important that this is done properly, otherwise purifying the water will take a very long time. For a few days now, my new Big Berkey has been showing off in my kitchen; truly a jewel on the countertop. The water definitely tastes different from just from the tap. Lovely not to have to get plastic water bottles from the supermarket now. Great size if, apart from drinking water, you want to use the water for making drinks, washing vegetables and cooking food. So far, I refill water 1-2 times a day every day. I chose the stainless steel tap: beautiful it looks! Gives the Berkey a nice, robust look! Priming the water filters took quite some time. I was glad I bought the pump for priming the filters with it. I suspect the water pressure from my water tap was too low to do it only with the supplied primebutton. In any case, priming the filters eventually worked with the hand pump. Now the water to be filtered flows well. I had several questions about the Big Berkey beforehand. Tom and Melanie always gave quick, expert, clear and detailed answers. What a service you give to your customers! I can only praise you! Service is a top priority! It felt like the right choice to choose your shop with your service and the favourable offer price! Keep up the good work!
