Why we use: Natural deodorant without aluminium
The safety of aluminium in deodorants has been under considerable scrutiny in recent years for discussion. For instance, aluminium is said to pose health risks. Results of several studies thus question the safety of most regular deodorants that use aluminium as an active ingredient. This is because aluminium from deodorant not only stays on your skin, but is absorbed into your body. The alternative is natural deodorant without aluminium.
Sweat regulation is disrupted
Apart from the possible health risks of aluminium, aluminium also closes the pores of your skin, disrupting your sweat regulation. Aluminium is in fact an antiperspirant; it blocks your sweat glands temporarily which means you sweat less. That seems nice in the short term, but of course we sweat for a reason. Our bodies use it to clear away waste products and regulates our body temperature. So you don't really want to prevent sweating, those nasty sweat odours of course!
Moreover, did you know that aluminium is the causative agent of those pesky yellow spots in your clothes? Aluminium gives a chemical reaction when it comes into contact with sweat and cotton. This gives those stubborn stains, which are hard to get out with washing.
Natural ingredients
When using a natural deodorant without aluminium, your sweat glands not blocked. Your natural temperature regulation is not frustrated and you can properly dispose of your waste products through the skin. If we can use ingredients in deodorant where there is no discussion about safety, we naturally prefer it!

Sodium bicarbonate works well against odours, because it has a high PH value. Bacteria on your skin, which cause unpleasant odours, cannot live in a high PH environment. No bacteria, no nasty odours!
Zinc oxide works extremely well against stress sweat. This is because it is antibacterial and converts the fatty acids in sweat into odourless zinc salts. It also relieves irritation of sensitive underarm skin and is therefore also soothing after a shave. Together with the caring oils in the deodorant, this ensures a gentle, effective and natural deodorant experience.
